Day Dreamer/ Dreams Slowly Fading a story unfolding...

I am a stickler for details, so each piece that I create comes with its own set of nuances. I will have an original idea or thought but it changes by the time the actual pieces get completed. Especially when my mood changes daily.

You see... while I'm trying to align myself with God, and dish out caliber work, the ideas just keep coming. The good thing about it is it makes for new art to be manifested but the bad thing is there will never be enough time to create them all. Which is why the "Dream Series" is and may always be an open series. Besides as of right now the Dream series tells my story.

Day Dreamer 2011 tells the tale of a young woman who has big dreams but has spent a lot of her time with her head in the clouds. So much so that the seasons have change and time is melting away. Yet she remains hopeful that soon she will take flight like birds in the sky and soar.

"Day Dreamer 2012" tells the same but slightly different story. Now while this young lady isn't quite as young anymore, seasons are still changing but the gears in her mind are spinning in circles and although she remains hopeful she knows time is slipping away faster and faster as she gets older.

I love the background of this new piece I have started... its so rich. But I have other plans for this piece. However I will keep in mind the process I did to achieve this beautiful drippy layered effect for an abstract series. I also augmented the sister piece Day Dreamer. But don't worry there will be canvas prints of the original the way it was. I'm not done with either one but there is a long ways to go on the reddish one. I'm off to sleep. Peace.

I had a really good week last week. I mean nothing overly spectacular happened but it was a good week. I spent time with my FWB. I had a good day in court on Monday afternoon. Chillaxed on Tuesday. Wednesday I was back at the salon.

Sidebar: There is just something about putting on make up and cute clothes that makes you feel totally different when you walk around even in the house. I feel like a goddess almost. I mean don't get me wrong... I feel fine most days when I don't but its hard to feel funky when you look good period. I spend so much of my time in front of an easel and aside from the recently dubbed FWB I don't have a man and I live at home in the basement. So its easy to fall into the rut of paint splattered clothing and uncombed hair. However when the motivation hits me I try to keep rolling full steam ahead. The motivation this week and part of last week just happens to have been a clean laundry and new found old clothing I forgot I had. So I beat my face and put on some cute artsy clothes. My dress style is a hodge podge of Artsy, vintage, boho, gothic chic with a twist of ethnic. In a nut shell eclectic I suppose.

Now back to the week I had. So last week at the salon all had agreed that we were going out for one of our coworkers birthday on Thursday. We went to @Bar7DC where @WeAreBlackAlley plays every Thursday. She wanted everyone to wear her favorite color red. So since I had on purple and black (the two colors that reign supreme in my wardrobe). I had to run home and change into the one red blouse I own (which I don't feel represents my style at all but I'm a team player). I also switched to a smaller purse which functions better while dancing to the latest club banger. Needless to say we had a ball and each and every time I wonder why I don't do it more often.

Friday morning was here before you knew it. Although I had overslept because of the fun we had. I was determined to leave the house fully beat and in cute attire. Mission accomplished and was great. We all went had lunch together minus a few that had clients. I'm off on weekends since that's when I'm out on the art scene. Saturday was sleep in, wake up to Granny fixing breakfast, chillax while watching food network with Granny. Then about 3 I went down to watch a few make up tutorials on YouTube. I have been working on this painting forever and ever. It was part of the a series I had come up with. You know that whole "Gone With The Wind" era.

Here is a photo montage of what I did. Unfortunately I can't find any photos of the original under painting but oh well.

Anyway now that I am actually busy with work a lot more all of these ideas just keep piling up. I'm filing up pages of sketch books at an alarming rate. Just wish I could curate the shows and come up with the themes to do all these ideas. Oh well I will get around to some of them eventually.

Today I spent what seemed like an eternity installing my art for next month opening reception. But whew! It's up and currently on display. Everyone's art looks amazing! I'm so excited. I will never get tired of this. Now for the marketing and PR to begin. Sooo if your on my blast list and you live local look for my email. Also please feel free to share this especially those of you in the Washington metropolitan area.

My cell phone which has an amazing camera died while I was there so I will be returning tomorrow to get some photos but nothing to up close I'm saving that for the actual reception photo shoot.

Now off to bed its 11:20 and I promised myself when I wasn't painting I would turn in early to get up and get an early start on working out etc.etc.

All done!! Now I can sleep!

Her Crown Of Glory

I finished up three pieces for my group show and I'm currently working on the last piece. I have decided that the Engrained Series will be hung as two sets. Only because it's 2:43am Monday morning and I just don't have the mindset to start another piece specifically for the show. I need sleep and I still have to cradle ALL of the pieces and deliver them by tomorrow no later than 3:00.

The show these pieces are for will have the reception next month. I have another gallery I'm looking forward to working with as well. I will be doing a group show with them in March. I will post more details about that later.

I have also joined a daily drawing & or painting group on LovingMixedMedia.com but I will also post here. I will most likely do drawings since thankfully I have been busy. I also plan to clean my room which is an under taking since I have no real storage space and that's the main source of the clutter.

I make art a lot and enjoy it very much but I have got to get out the house more. I mean I'm not looking to be a socialite or anything but even I'm starting to feel like a basement mouse. I think it makes me a tad bit depressed. Not in a clinical type of way but just sad and weird. Lol.

Okay I am about to start rambling and that's not good so I'm just going to quit now and say goodbye.

Last Minute

Hello beautiful people! So much to do and as always never enough time to do it. I got invited to do a group show for Black History Month. I have to submit 6 pieces. Thankfully since I never got my Engrained series framed I am going to cradle them and submit them as one piece.

The other 5 pieces will be on wood as well. So far I have one almost completed piece that I'm working on now, and the other four have color washes on them. They are just waiting for the idea to come and it had better come soon! lol

Here is the almost completed piece...which I am hoping to get that finished and out of the way tonight.

But then I had an idea I wasn't exactly sure of... So I used some tracing paper to see how it would look.

I like the idea of the horns I have been seeing them in a lot of the art I love and since one of the color strokes resembled a horn I kept thinking it would be nice addition. I love totem heads or the idea of elaborate head dress. I have been wanting to explore that in my art for awhile now. This is just the beginning.

So anyway... aside from painting I have begun my weight loss journey once again. It won't be easy but I have to do it. My happiness and life depends on it. This weight feels as if its weighing me down not just in the physical since but metaphorically speaking as well. I think it is what stopping me from shining. 2009 was the year for healing, 2010 was the year for discovery and renewal, 2011 was all about the launching Antwanyce the visual artist, this year 2012 is about building a better me which makes an even better Artist. Its time to go big or go home.

Dinner Coconut Curry Chicken

4 thin sliced chicken breast
1 cup coconut cream
1 tbs curry powder
1 TS cumin
1 TS turmeric
1/2 TS paprika
1/2 TS garlic powder
Sea salt and pepper to taste
1small bunch of cilantro
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
(or a bag of frozen stop light peppers)
1 cut in half
1 cup Jasmine rice
1 tbs peanut oil or any oil you have on hand.

Boil water for rice in a medium pot or follow instructions for rice in a rice cooker. When done cooking rice add fresh finely chopped cilantro and half lime squeezed
Then in a large sautee pan add oil, chicken breast, bell peppers, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until chicken is just about done. Then add the curry,cumin, tumeric, paprika, and coconut cream. Let simmer on medium low for another 10-15 minutes. When done squeeze half of lime juice all over.

Plate with crisp steamed green beans or vegetables of your preference over rice cilantro lime mixture.
Enjoy!! Now back to painting I go!

Commission Her dad part 3

Happy New Year beautiful people

Okay so you guys already know I have been busy working on a couple of things. Mainly this portrait project. The other stuff I will blog about in the next blog.

So operation Her Dad is just about over. The mission is just about complete just as soon as we get him nice and cradled. I'm just waiting for the varnish to dry first.

Its been a nice experience to do a portrait and capture the best of a person and still have creative control because your fans love your work and trust you...

Okay so here you can see where I added more value to his face.

Now I have taped off where I want the graphics to go and added the last of the acrylic layers before doing the oils. I just hope if I add them thin enough they will dry in enough time.

Now I am adding the oils to soften the lines and give his skin a smooth creamy texture.

Finally he has eyes! I always wait until the end to do eyes. I know weird right lol.

Time to tighten things up with the facial hair and head hair.

My first painting of 2012. Titled "In Memory Of Her Dad"

Hello people hope all is well in internet land. I have completed the drawing of my clients dad now its has been transferred to the wood panel. I have a few progress shots but from this point I will keep updating but no photos as to keep the element of surprise intact for my client.

So here if you look closely you can see the graphite transfer I did from the original drawing. The background is an acrylic wash to enhance the grain of the wood. However its far from complete.

Like I mentioned before in most cases there would be no original drawing unless requested. I would normally just project the image and trace it onto the wood or canvas.

Here I am doing the first layer or whats is called the under painting. It will takes several layers to get the shading and completion where I will feel most satisfied. Originally I was going to do him in black and white monochromatic and have a colorful background. But my gut said she would probably appreciate the color better.

The crazy thing is upon studying the photograph on my computer screen more while painting I see a few adjustments I need to make to the original drawing, which I already made to the painting.

Okay layer number three you can see where I have started adding value in various places to his face. Its at this point where I have to go back in and make some necessary changes that are bugging me then I will work on the graphics and the finer details of his face.

At this point its time for me to begin my work week at the salon. But I did get a chance to tweak a few things and do a glazing technique to achieve the creaminess that oil paint has. I like the look of oils but I am too impatient and a procrastinator who needs instant dry time because I tend to wait until the eleventh hour to do stuff. Oils tend to take several days to dry.

If I'm not too tired from the salon I will work on him a bit when I get home in the evenings. However I am trying to commit to a better schedule that allows me to get more rest and exercise. I have decided to push my date back a little further as far as coming from behind the chair. I want to explore studio space for half of what I'm paying for my chair. I will try to save half of what I'm earning as an artist for the next two months and combine that with my tax refund. That will serve as cushion for my exit from where I currently work as a stylist.

Yay for constant work! This weeks project is a portrait painting. Although I'm not a portrait artist I don't mind doing them from time to time. Especially since I get to add my artistic flair to this one. Whenever someone wants me to duplicate the exact same picture onto a canvas I have to decline. For me it has to have some feeling and passion for me to be enthused about the project. Anyways...

This portrait painting is for a client who had only one picture of her Dad and he is now passed on. Talk about pressure. Its all the more reason I want it to be really special. I printed out the pic and would imagine if he were my dad. Or I think about my beloved uncle's that are now gone just so I can usher in the presence needed to create an image with the same love she has for him. Or even the same labor of love for the pretty figurative women I enjoy painting.

The plan was to brighten and contrast the pic in photo filter, soften it and enlarge it. Then print it out and and trace it onto the surface I plan to paint it on. That way it would be as close to an exact duplicate of the photo.

The only little issue was the image its self. It's dark and was sent as a pdf instead of a jpeg so it's a read-only file. After spending too much time trying to convert the file I just did it the old fashion way. I am quite sure there was some way I could figure out how to change it but I just used my computer screen as my reference zoomed in 400-600%. The key to drawing from a photo or image is you can not rely on your memory. You must constantly keep your eyes focusing back and forth to the reference photo. The crazy thing is even in doing so you still capture the person the way you see perceive them... just hopefully not in a bad way.

Below you can see I used a large 18x24 drawing pad and my laptop, along with the printed photo of him to draw him. The reason I am doing such a detailed rendering is because 1 it makes good practice and 2 she or her sister may want the drawing as well. It would look nice framed. Next I will used transfer paper to trace the basic details onto the surface I plan to paint on.

Below is a few mobile pictures of me working at the dining table Christmas night after all the festivities had ended. The house was nice and quite. I was very much in a creative place. It was a good day.

Here was a quick sketch before I started adding value and taking away details that were from my memory instead of the photo it self.

Here you can start to see were he looks a bit more like the picture.

Here was the next morning after some sleep and some fresh eyes. I changed the hairline and started adding the fine lines in his face and shading in the beard more to reflect grey hair. Next I will finish the tedious details of his hair. some of this part will have to be somewhat of a guess since its a dark photo. But none the less I am having fun.

Maybe today I will get a chance to record the process. My YouTube fans will love that.

I had fun working on this but whew I'm glad its done. It was tedious in a different kind of way, like awkward I suppose but I enjoyed it. However I must say I need a better work chair ASAP! I sit down on a lot of small paint jobs or when I am doing fine details. I think the saddle stool might be the best choice for me. No handles so I can hold something like a guitar or a long painting in my lap. Also the saddle helps your posture which would alleviate back pain and stiffness. The kind with wheels and a hydraulic base. I am going to have to look online for one soon.

This Guitar painting is untitled but I listened to Massive Attack, Blind Divine and Portishead the whole entire time. I didn't want to think about all the other stuff that gets me all worked up and emotional. I wanted a paint session where I didn't end up crying. So no Adele, Amy, or any chic singing sad songs. No oldie but goodies to make me reminisce. Just good bands that play the hell out of instruments.

Now that the event is over I am able to post all the new originals in my online store. I will still be looking for a permanent place to display them until they are sold...

However in the meantime I try to keep my art affordable (for now anyway). My largest piece 30x40 the most detailed piece is still under $500.00. After all I would rather my art be displayed on the walls of your homes or businesses than in my garage. I even offer installment plans for my original artwork. I also do a small percentage off if you consider purchasing more than one piece even. Not to mention the only positive of me not having constant gallery representation is I can keep your cost down.

But I know times are still rough and funds are limited.

The Engrained series

The incorrect spelling of this word had me tossed up between the correct spelling... however because of the definition of the correct spelling (Ingrained) I didn't press hard into the wood in which I used to create these images. I simply drew on the wood but its a softer wood than some others so it appears to be slightly (ingrained). Then I thought about using "etched" in front of engrained. That lead me down a whole other rabbit hole. Either way its the spelling I preferred so I choose the "incorrect" spelling although several articles online debate whether it's recognized or not. This whole spill is for all the spelling and grammar Nazis out there.

So anyway.... Engrained is an open series I will continue working on in various sizes of wood with a lot of grain it. Hint Hint get it lol. A lot of grain titled Engrained but not ingrained literally. Ha ha ha I crack myself up.

Okay seriously here they are collectively.

"A Colored Study"

OK so first the wood and gouache now water color paper and gouache. Except I did use a water soluble graphite this time. Also I have some more details to add.

Okay so after being inspired by the all this drawing I have been doing in my Moleskine journal, I decided to incorporate it in my art. Instead of it just being a drawing on heavy paper or whatever I mixed into my paintings. So far there will be 12 that I will group into a set of six or four.

So what I have here is poplar wood panels that I painted on to emphasized the wood grain and then decided from that point to use the graphite to draw the female images. This work is a tad bit different from my usual work but I think it still ties in nicely with my style or genre of lowbrow surrealism. Just not as much whimsy perhaps. I am having fun with these but then again I pretty much have fun creating all my art for the most part.

This is just different because believe it or not I do have some insecurities about my graphite drawing skills. Every thing I've learned is based off practice and reading a few books. Sometimes I nit pick so much I don't know when to stop and ruin a drawing with too many erasure marks. So what I've been doing in my Moleskine is drawing in ink ONLY. I use a basic ball point pen like Bic or Uniball. Just as long as the ink flows well but as soon as they get those ink blots or start skipping its time for a new one. Sometimes...every blue moon I use something fancy like a Sakura Micron fine or extra fine felt tip pen.

Well I have eight more to go so I am going to hop to it. Depending on how things go I will do something similar on 12x12 or 24x24. I really like working in squares as of lately.

Great week ...

This was another good week. Not to mention I sold another painting at Studio85. Yep RedSeah is sold to a collector whom also purchased two of my other pieces about two weeks ago. I am going to miss her but she deserves a new home. Its such an amazing and humbling feeling when someone loves your art enough to take their hard earned money to acquire it. I am truly grateful and I don't think this feeling can ever get old.

I have a collaboration show with Reiko Renee coming up at the H Street Community Development Corporation its a small venue and I am working on some watercolor and gouache pieces on wood.

There will also be some works on paper. I have two large pieces that I will have there for the evening but the plan is too hang them in S85 when they have the wall space. I am also looking for more places like Studio85. I was invited to a gallery in Leonardtown, MD but I think at this current time I will have too pass. Perhaps its a place I will revisit in the future but for now I can not afford to pay in advance to hang my art and a commission fee. The art displayed there was very different from my style and I just wasn't sure if that initial investment was worth the risk of it sitting there with things being so tight for me right now.

I created a drawing study for a painting I am going to work on as an extension to Day Dreamer and she will be called Cry Me An Ocean, Until The End Of Time.

I did play around with it in some photo editing software and now I can offer her as a matted print in my online store. It was before the clock so this will be titled...

Cry Me An Ocean.

Even though this week was pretty good I had this heaviness that I felt whenever I was in solitude. I mostly thought about my future as an artist and my financial soundness. However I know in my hearts of hearts that I will be okay and God has provided me with all my necessities thus far. Now the thing that I'm not so sure about is will I ever have anyone to share my passion with, someone who gets me, inspires me, and motivates me to the core. A guy who loves me in spite of me yet helps me be the best I can be in a loving yet firm way.
Perhaps that is why even in the horizon of my success I still can be inspired to paint a sad yet hopeful piece....

I feel like I have come to a place in my career as an artist that I am finally taking flight. Even in the moments when I feel a bit uncertain there is this whimsical hopefulness. I occasionally I find myself spilling my guts out about my journey on here or in a vlog on YouTube but that's how I am. I am transparent in my real life. I have learned that its not always good to be so revealing to everybody. This work of art is a layered piece because of the layers of mixed emotions I have on this journey.

Writing in the background: the feeling of hopelessness yet telling myself I can do it. So I try to redirect the negative thinking into positive thinking.

Bold color wash: The optimistic rainbow is a sign of a pay off at the end of the road.

Butterflies: the metamorphosis of once being a caterpillar then the cocoon stage and now finally feeling like I can spread my wings and take flight. Soaring beyond the beyond.

The transparency of her skin: The skin I'm in and allowing myself to pour out my life on canvas for others to see and dissect.

Yesterday I headed over to Studio85 where I am currently showcased artist. I sold another wearable art necklace yay! Anyway I was able to get a few shots of the store all set up for retail. Slowly but surely

Slowly but surely my dreams of becoming a full time artist are coming true. I am so excited about my future. I have been busy busy busy. Over the past few weeks I have been working on an ongoing job as an illustrator for a client who has an entire line of inspiration christian based products coming out.

I have been educating myself on copyright law, rights to reproduce, intellectual property etc.etc. Its interesting learning all the ins and outs as far as my rights as the artist illustrating and creating art for someone else's use. Also learning what the cost of those different things should be have been quite a chore as well.

This one client in particular has me illustrating the cutest bears. She has also referred me to another lady who had me design a logo for her product. My partner TheDesignerChic helped me a lot with that one. Each experience is a learning experience. I am also figuring out what about this particular biz I like and don't like.

Like drafting up contracts and invoices and having to explain why I own my intellectual ideas even though you came to me with a concept. Blah Blah Blah

Anyway not only have I been busy doing that and the market on Saturdays but I did the Grand opening at Studio85 art and apparel boutique. It was a very nice event. The clientele was very diverse. I sold a painting and some wearable art pendants. Oh yeah and BeeShe Alexis is sold as well. I dropped her off to her new owner over the weekend.

Even with all this awesome goodness happening with the art biz. I know I still have a ways to go before I can legitimately walk away from being a hairstylist all together. Yet right now it feels as though I work to pay for a chair. A chair that each week I force myself to be inspired to stand behind. Even though my art is heavily influenced by hair, make up and beauty. I can't help but wonder how many clients and colleagues are truly genuine in their cheers for my success. I am learning that having over 500 Facebook friends, over 700 followers on Twitter, 300 on YouTube and whom ever on Google plus and the countless other social media outlets doesn't constitute to squat if no one is visiting my store and purchasing. I'm learning that even in the face of technology I still have to do a lot of foot to ground work. The two can work hand in hand but I still have to network with real life people. Going to gallery openings and shows, doing workshops and classes right here locally, taking the freelance jobs, word of mouth, meet and greet events etc etc. Its a lot of work to keep up while parenting and still maintaining a schedule to do the jobs on my calender and going in the salon to service clients.

I am not complaining as these are first world problems for sure. I am just trying to make choices that in the long run will further my career as a full time self sufficient artist. Meaning maintaining a place of my own paying my monthly expenses at a comfortable level for me and my family.

But I have just been so darn busy! I mean between doing illustrations. Which I have to do completely by hand all the work because my PC is out of it. But yes I'm illustrating now and once you get past the bumps the work is pretty cool. But it is tedious.
Then I also have been doing some vendor events in my area. I will be doing them on Saturdays until they stop for the winter. That's my lovely assistant Josh in the background and me in the second photo

And last but not least I have been trying to get shops, boutiques, and other unique artsy small businesses to show my work. So I had an awesome interview with Studio85 a clothing and accessories boutique in Northwest DC. They will be showcasing and selling my artwork and wearable art pieces. Last night I didn't fall asleep until 4am this morning. I wasn't painting just had a lot on my mind. This week has been a rainy week so I have been staying inside. Everyday just about I have coffee and yesterday I decided to play in my new Moleskine journal. I started on a piece while I was out at Busboys and Poets but I didn't get a table and well... sitting on the couch was sort of awkward trying to draw while strangers sit around and talk to you. When really I wanted a corner to myself to be elusive and creative all while people watching. So I finished while I enjoyed my coffee yesterday at home at the table minus the people watching.

I have been away and not blogging much but to be honest I just have been enjoying the creating and not much else. Its weird because sometimes I will have moments where I have all this wild and crazy need to blog but if I don't get to right away it will leave me as fast as it came. I am the same way with my YouTube channel as well. When the moment hits me its like BAM! Video after video but then the moment leaves me.

I have been getting all ready for the Expression live event but then we had an earthquake. That was crazy because the west coast doesn't get stuff like that. Then later that week hurricane Irene came through. Needless to say the event was postponed until October. So now I am full of product and no vending event.

Once again I have been having a good old time creating backgrounds and then allowing the images where I see the face or faces speak to me. And I tell ya I really think I enjoy this process, not to say I am abandoning the plan and meticulous work. This will just be something I will be keeping as well. So here she is...

The second half of my two paintings I was working on outside is completed. Once again I had no real plan thought out and I created this piece completely out of random inspiration. I think the next few paintings will be this way although I do have three or four ideas I sketched that I can't wait to paint but they will just have to wait.

The rest of this week will consist of busy back to school kids getting their hair done. So I most likely will not be able to start any new pieces until the weekend. Sunday basically I plan to attend a fellow artist opening show on Saturday after work.

Although I have several canvas laying around awaiting my touch I don't think I will be doing a whole lot of painting on them in the next few months. I think I will be focusing after the fall on paper. Heavy duty watercolor paper. I was watching a YouTube video that Gary Reef did and he was saying the same thing.

I also think after these next two vending events I may have an open house here at home and try as much to unload some of my works on canvas. Hmm I will keep you posted. Until then enjoy.

Delusional Euphoria

She is all done and she is more awesome than I could have ever imagined.
As you may already know she was completely unplanned. I collaged the background with pages from Sophie's Choice. Then I poured watered down acrylic randomly all over and started to do random strokes and patterns all around the canvas.
Once I did that I brought forth images I liked the face was purely down on a whim after starring at it for a few days.
I think I can most definitely get used to not being so planned and thought out. Especially when I have a block.

Outside painting in the sun

I did a little background painting outside last week and I plan to do more this week.

Also I have some smaller artworks in the mix. Now although I love making the pendants it really feels good to be back on the canvas.

These are small chunky artworks that I have drawn on watercolor paper and collages to 1.5 inch 4x4 canvases. I still haven't decided whether to sell them as a set or individuals.
The idea of using the collage method to create art on canvas with pieces I've done on paper makes me so happy.
Well I'm off to create I will return later.

Technology at it's best

I love technology! Well at least 80% of the time. It has its disadvantages but when its good its good!
I had heard about this little Square gadget awhile back but I didn't aggressively find out anymore information on it until recently. So here is how it went.....

Old Phone doesn't support

I went to my local cellphone carrier and browsed around at all the shiny new mini computers as I now call them. I was due for an upgrade but was waiting ever so patiently for my beloved BlackBerry (of 6 years) too evolve with a 4g phone. Or something as fantastic as their new Playbook they created to get in on the tablet market. However my patience was running thin. About a year ago an artist friend tweets and then blogs about this Square so I went to check it out but at the time it was only available for iPhone. Well I wasn't interested in purchasing an all touch screen phone.
Fast forward to the present. Okay so then a few months back another artist friend tells me they have a Square and they don't have an iPhone. So now I'm getting a little antsy because we both are vendors in the event next month and he would be able to accept credit cards.
So like a loyal BB user I begin to look for other point of sales transaction devices or apps that don't involve a commitment and a first born for my beloved BlackBerry.
But this Square was romancing me with their user friendly, free, and no commitment. So back to my trip to the cellphone store. They have all these nice phones and at first I wasn't quite ready to give up my button pushing qwerty keypad. So I played around with different phones that had both features.

But there she was....This big shiny vibrant screen. The phone size was like a mini tablet of some sorts. Yet the phone was thin and very lightweight. I played with it for awhile but the iPhone was looking pretty nice as well. However the only thing that the iPhone had over shiny big phone was the instagram app.
I asked the sales associate a few decision making questions and then I made my choice.

I am now team Android and also not to mention I very happy owner and user of the Square.

Pendant mania

I have been going Ham over making these resin pendants I even have my little production down too a science.

The only thing I wish I could change is the fact that I have no real work table that I can stand at or use a bar stool. Bending over on a table while pouring the resin is back breaking when I'm pouring in large batches.

Well anyway I am happy with the way things are turning out. I have sold two and I have a ton to be made for my event. But each week I list new ones as they are created.

I haven't worked on a painting in two weeks so I think once this batch is hardened and beaded with chains. I will work on two canvases that I have already collaged with newspaper.

I'm am having so much fun with these. I even had a pair of earrings commissioned. And since I had not one usable image I sat there and painted those two little circles too. Oh but don't fret there are going to be more where those came from except a hell of a lot easier.

As soon as I get them all prettied up for their photo shoot. They will be listed in my store in less than 24 hours. Get ready to snag these babies.

Wearable arts

I am creating more wearable art pendants for my vending events. Some will be my beloved BeeShe babies. Others will be various images of my works from the Fluid sea goddesses and Dream series.
I have resin some and they are turning out so beautiful. The resin is really a nice.

I've used some old pieces of jewelry for embellished effects. However I will have to find some cheaper solutions because some of the stones are semi precious.

This some very small progress made on her. She finally has a face so she doesn't look ghostly anymore. LOL. However its just the first layer and there will be lots of details to her clothing etc etc.
I did this on a 8x10 canvas I'm trying to decide if these "Gone With The Wind" Georgian themed pieces are pieces worth exploring.
Don't worry I haven't abandoned the showgirls. I actually have two collaged canvases awaiting background color for the next two installs in the showgirl series.

And here is more inspiration for me to feast on. So many ideas...shaking my head.

Meet Allurea

Finally I am beginning a new series of elaborate detailed pieces of exotic women. Painting this piece has been so much fun and I deviated way off the path of my original idea. The process of painting and allowing my muse to inspire me as I go was so different from the way I normally work. And in doing so I have been inspired to do more pieces like this and I believe I will attempt to freely paint the next one as well.

Well anyway without further ado let me introduce you too...

I have been putting this painting down because I worked on A Mommy's Love piece and also because the original direction I wanted to go in has changed. But here is the blog were I initially had the first idea. It's been slowly coming along.

I still have no clue as too how the final piece will turn out nor do I have a title. But when doing research for photo references for peacocks it definitely correlates with a message I often thought about when learning about male colorful birds or any male animal, fish, etc that is elaborately designed to attract his female counterpart. Yet in human societies its often the opposite. I watch in the wild how male birds spread or puff their elaborate feathers in front of the female they want to court for mating. They coo and hop around doing dances even to entice her.

But in today's modern human culture that type of wooing seems to be dead. Guys don't even want to date you with out expecting some thank you sex in end. IF they even take you out at all. Not to mention the advancements in modern technology, yet setbacks in interpersonal skills. Text massaging (although I love its convenience) it is not a way to get to know a person. Anyone I want to get know and spend my time talking too gets some good old fashion phone time.

Then I see a trend of females who seem to think its "her" that has to do all the wooing. Dressing provocatively and being way to concern with their outer appearance while the inside beauty lacks luster or refinement. Some going out of their way even to buy a mans affection with gifts and sexual favors.

Call me old fashion but what happen to being a lady. Allowing a guy to pursue you. There are ways a lady can show a man she is interested without looking desperate but it should be him who pursues you.

But maybe perhaps it isn't something new. When I think about primitive tribes the females painted their faces and whore fancy adornments to attract a males suitor. During the early twentieth century female acts often dress or lack there of to sell out shows and to just make a living.

Some females were even prostitutes the worlds oldest profession...

I may have gone too deep with the meaning of this painting after all it could just simply be she is pretty and so are peacocks.

Although I do not practice portraiture in my art occasionally I am compelled or inspired to do so. My humble tribute to a Legend who will be greatly missed.

Say not in grief he is no more but live in thankfulness that he was.
HIS legacy reaches across generations and still speaks the truth too empower. He made music that changed the way so many of us viewed the world. I owe to him much of my political mindset including the courage to speak out against injustice. You will be missed, but your music will continue to inspire.

This week I wanted to paint but I wasn't ready mentally or physically to jump back into a labor intensive layering process of my illustrative style. But I still need to paint for the therapy soooooo. I put a bunch of colors on my pallet and went for it.

I didn't remember to take a picture of the very first layer but this is the second layer and immediately when I stepped back I got excited.

I knew in my excitement I could get a bit carried away so I went to sleep on it. Then I starred at it for about two days. Then I saw "IT" when I woke up one night to goto to the bathroom. Yeah thats right during a 3am bathroom run I ended up standing in front of my easel with paints and brushes going for it. lol.

I am a mad woman and its one of the pros and cons of having my studio a few feet from my bed haha.

Thats what I was inspired to call it.

I am still going to tweak some elements but I am very satisfied with the direction its going in. The funny thing is when I first attempted this technique that I learned in a workshop I hated it. But I just had to find my way of applying the techniques in my own creative way I suppose. Before the 3am moment I was thinking the second layer was a great background for a surreal dreamy face.

I have been in such a lazy blah mood since I have been back from my retreat. You would think the opposite effect of fire and inspiration would be the case. Well some days more so than others. But mostly blah. I am still trying to figure out some things going on in my personal world.

Since I've moved back home in Dec/2008 I feel as though what should have a been a time for regrouping has a been a regression in some ways, yet an improvement in other ways. However ARE the improvements significant enough to really matter????? I don't know lets see...

The goal was too save money and clean up my credit and purchase another home. Also have some ease so I can build my career as an artist. Well I have no savings and credit is still waiting for improvements. I live paycheck to paycheck. I've had more bouts of sadness in the last 2 1/2 years than I can count. Between feeling the toll of the bad choices I made to put me in this position, to the deaths of two uncles, weight gain, and declining clientele...I don't see any PROgression going on here.

Now the bright side is my art has improved tremendously things I once thought were intimidating aren't anymore. I love learning and experiencing new techniques and mediums in which to create visual poetry. I plan and design meticulously and then execute it in a more vivid visual form than a moleskine journal can ever portray. It has made me very sensitive about my shit though. The more I paint and discover what I like and dislike the more I discover about my own self. The more I learn to come to terms with who I am as a woman. The better I get the less feedback I desire. I am discovering my style or muse if you will. In my life the same holds true. What I thought were necessities weren't anymore. I don't like doing things that I am not passionate about nor want to. However just like in a painting some things just have to be done to get the desired effect. Although any great artist has there faults and never stops learning when it comes to there craft. I personally have many faults and a whole lot of room for growth in my life...so I will never stop learning personally either.

I am 37, divorced, mother of two impressionable teenagers, financially classified as poor, over weight and by clinical standards morbidly obese, I don't sell nearly enough art to quit the hair biz. Yet I still keep holding on. I would never trade my journey for anyone else's. I am rich in family, friends, beautiful amazing kids with a father who loves them, I drive a car that is 20 years old and kind of creepy inside but has been very reliable, I have been given the opportunity to hone my talent as a visual artist and love on myself a bit. I have a job that comes naturally and easy to me that pays good when I put more into it.

Sooo I guess in a sense I have progressed or regrouped just not in ways I would have imagined. I feel its time to get a bit uncomfortable though. Its time to spread my wings and sore. I have licked my wounds long enough. Now is the time and I'm getting ready, so watch out world!

Below is a painting I did for a widow, a soldiers wife. A military man died and left behind his wife and daughter to carry on a legacy. Although I have many personal views on war. I truly thank our service men and women who risk so much for a better life not only for themselves but for all of us. This was created for Mother's Day for her.

A Mommy's Love

It all started with a vision that came to me early early in the morning. Thats when I did a rough sketch but once I had the vision down I cleaned up the sketch to make the vision clear and exact.

I then had to make a decision as to what medium I wanted to paint this piece on. I knew my last piece was done on wood and I realized then how much I enjoyed working on wood. So I decided that I wanted to do this piece on wood as well. Then the dilemma of the size was the next issue I couldn't determine whether to go with the same as I had done before or larger.

I had been recently dreaming about creating detailed pieces that are inspired by Gustav Klimt and other great masters from the past. I dreamed so much about it that I even went got a few hard back colorful vivid books showcasing art in Neo Classical, Art Nouveau, Renaissance, Surrealism styles and genres.

I myself tend to gravitate towards a hodge podge of surrealism, art nouveau with a lowbrow twist if you will lol. Any way if you follow you have seen progress pics on this piece. So without further ado....

Hi guys this week has been a really weird week. I have had the worse case of attention deficit disorder. I know its this computer its wrecking my brain. I constantly feel like if I shake my head it will erase things and clear it up. However it doesn't work lol.

Anyway I have decided to move TheRichAnt.com has moved to her own eCommerce place. A place where everything is housed under one roof and one very inexpensive monthly expense. I put my Etsy shop on vacation mode until I decided exactly how I want to handle that. But between Etsy,Big Cartel, Blogger, Facebook Fan page, paypal, ebay and Go daddy. It all gets so crazy! Not to mention all the fees. I have already shut down my artfire shop.

For now I will continue to keep my blogger.I am still on the fence on whether to just link my blogger page or start a new blog from scratch. But I love my blogger page.

Anyway here it is! I hope you like! I made it all by myself.....YAY!

I was more then impressed... actually some what blown away by the delightful and charming details to the characters that will haunt viewers. My heart was sadden as I could relate to her demented fears. The films bitter sweet disturbing story has magnificent talent. This was the most amazing example of stop motion I have ever seen. The realistic motions of each character was perfect and flawless, especially Madame Tutli Putli. Her wonderful movements were actually in so much sync with the real world, I thought I was watching an actual real time movie. The small fidgets a person makes to the eyes which held all emotions of how she felt. Fear, happiness, sadness, and wonder. Excellent example of an animation character.

Lately I have been so over the internet. However it some what serves a purpose for my business as an artist as I have sold my art to people who ordinarily would not have had the opportunity to see my art. However as my following on my FB page, FB personal page, Twitter, YouTube, and blogger grows my sales do not. I tend to sell the vast majority of my art in person. Some while folks watched the process unfold while I've painted live and a lot at vendor like venues and last but not least in a formal setting like my gallery art showing.

I also realize how much time can be waisted online if not mindful of the passing time. Most days I have several pages open while blogging which then allows for distractions in a blog post that should have only taken me 30 minutes at best to complete. Then there is the Tweetdeck and the Ning site chat rooms. Don't get me wrong I love my computer all my new online friends in faraway towns, cities, and countries live in there.

I get good tidbits from blogs and I find inspiration. I even have found artist I love and have purchased or traded amazing works of art with them. But I am inclined to believe that to much of anything is never a good thing.

After completing my largest detailed painting ever "Alexis Bee" I has taken me so long to get back into my flow and start another piece. I think along with other mental/physical distractions surfing the internet hasn't helped.

Although I did finally get three of them started I am having the hardest time keeping a steady pace going. I stop and long for the outside or the sun light from upstairs.

I have already changed the direction her arm that is holding the perfume bottle.

This piece was actually done absolutely freehand. I literally started painting onto a blank canvas.

Another Klimt inspired piece and its on a 24x30 collaged 3/4 inch collaged canvas.

Not sure if I'm going in the exact direction of the drawing.

Now back to my ranting...

I miss being out and about with people. I can't necessarily say I miss painting live. But I am open to doing new live venues in the near future but they have to be in front of an audience that will not only like my work but appreciate it enough to pay good money for it. After all I want to be able to equally earn my income with art the same as I do doing hair.

Okay I'm just going to stop for the time being because I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or a Debbie downer, negative Nancy, or Pouty Patty.

I have been building frames and cradling my wood paneled art. It's something about power tools, wood and wood stains that make me feel like I have a "S" on my chest. Yet I still feel girlie at the same time. The only draw back I seem to have is the crappy card table is so low that after about an hour or two my lower back is killing me. Oh well it is what it is at least for now. Next week I will see if I can do something a little more ornate and see what happens.

I did an acrylic wash mixed with iridescent medium then sketched her in with graphite. I used acrylics, oil pastels, charcoal, watercolors, ink, and color pencils. The brightness in her hair on the right side is from my lamp as it was raining so I took the picture inside lol.

In todays vast online information era I have had the opportunity to learn so much about my craft. Even the night before last I went online to learn how to do an invisible part closer for a client I had to service the next day. But thats my hair business and because thats where the majority of my income steams from I am always furthering my education through various workshops, seminars, and symposiums.

Although doing hair came natural as far as the styling process. Cutting, coloring, weaving, and product knowledge was something I had to learn from professionals.

Now here is where the dilemma comes in... Art was also something that came naturally to me and if you have been someone who has followed my journey you can certainly see the growth in my work. I am always online looking for new techniques and online workshops. However most of what I have learned has been through trial and error. I also have learned that in the age of digital technology art has this whole new medium in which artist can express themselves. I want to incorporate those new advancements in my own work.

Then there is the whole sharing process which I do know a lot of artist and non artist appreciate. Sharing has become part of the art as well. I have been told by some of my collectors, they love the fact that they can tune in and watch the process of their original artwork being created. Some have even shared the process with friends who admire their art collection.

I say all this to say although I am growing and sharing I can only imagine what I could do if I had the proper training. Lets say for example the sharing process. Some say any basic video editing software will get the job done. And it has thus far... However being the creative that I am I want to take my sharing process to a whole other artistic level of cinematography. That takes more than just your basic video sharing software. Lately I have been trouble shooting my issues with lighting and getting a clear crisp video. Not to mention different angles and shots.

Then I also thought it would be pretty cool to incorporate snips of my vlog and day to day life in the painting process. Kind of like a biography sort of speak. The filming and editing have to be done right.

I know realistically I can't do it all myself. Yet being who I am makes me kind of alone. My friends are all hairstylist. I live in the suburbs and my studio is here in my room. How can I learn more and collaborate when I am physically not surrounded by other artist???? Online has been working however the energy of being in the same room with creative artistic minds is a whole other dynamic.

One so great it has me wondering should I enroll in art school. I know the debate of self taught vs art degree blah blah blah. However a degree is not my main aspiration but the knowledge and camaraderie are.

I see the things my girlfriends daughter has learned in school in such a short period of time. Things that took me a few years to accomplish she did in weeks or months. Ideas are also there being toss around and manipulated. I don't know??? Perhaps its her youthfulness & curiosity is what I see... Either way I want to keep growing and making great art and making the sharing process an expression of my art as well.

Now I just have to figure out the best way to achieve that.

I am open to ideas and feedback....

A post I felt compelled to create after listening this playlist while chatting and painting in LMM...

Hey Guys its been a minute since I did an actual blog here on LMM. Just keeping up with TheRichAnt.com blog is a handful at times.

Anywhoodle....Lately I have been painting while in silence because I need that quite time to think and have a talk with my maker. However today I went in the arsenal of playlist I have in various online venues and even on my own computer.

I consider myself to be a old head when it comes too music. I love my moms oldies the same as I love my own. I guess that's what happens when you grow up in a house hold that has always had music playing out loud. My mom is a designer and when me and my sister were kids she mainly designed clothing. So there were always fashion show rehearsals at the house. She designed for Washington DC's most elite and high ranking back in the late 70's and throughout the 80's.

Now that I've set the stage let me get to the puddle of tears.... Music has a way of sending you on a time travel. Which isn't hard for a ruminator like myself. Often times I find it hard to just enjoy the here and now because I spend so much time reflecting, turning, and replaying my past. I had such a great childhood and I miss those good ole days. Playing Barbie's on the front porch at either my house or my childhood bestie. Playing kickball with the entire neighborhood. The family cookouts. Going bike riding and exploring in the woods. Hanging out at Hains Point when you could drive through it (u have to be from this area to understand that one) My teenage years were good too. Although back then you thought a heartbreak would literally kill you. Only to learn you do survive and fall in love again. I have also been blessed with a family full of good people. Some are now passed on and I miss them terribly. They are a reminder of how life truly does go on. Yet you miss the past when they were in it.

All this makes me cry while I stand here at my easel this morning. Tears of joy and of sorrow. Sometimes I want to go back in time. Sometimes for a do over to fix mistakes, or just to revisit good times and love ones. That's what good music does for me. It inspires me, moves me, fills me, makes me smile, makes me cry, makes me dance, and ultimately makes me wanna paint. So I stand here in my puddle full of tears and inspiration at my easel.

So I invite you to come and take a jump in that puddle with me, get a little wet and get a whole lot inspired.

Hello my friends its music Monday again. Some of you may have already heard of this Monday's musical artist. However for those of you who need a formal introduction into the goodness of this amazing artist, let me be the first to introduce you to the ever so lovely...

Adele

Adele was born in London. She began singing at age four and asserts that she became obsessed with voices. Adele would impersonate the Spice Girls at dinner parties and, as a preteen, she sang Destiny's Child songs at her school. To make her look like the singer Gabrielle, her mother made an eye patch with sequins, which Adele said was embarrassing. Adele went through a phase where she wore Slipknot clothing and a studded dog collar. Adele then claimed she was influenced by the music of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald in her teens by accident, as she stumbled on the artists' CDs at a local HMV store while looking for a new hairstyle. She only got to listen to those songs for the first time as she was cleaning her room. Adele wrote her first record, "Hometown Glory" when she was 16 years old.

At the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009, Adele won awards in the categories of Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance she was also nominated for in the categories of Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Hi guys just dropping in and showing you another sneak peek of my newest Bee/She Lady.

There is still quite a ways to go however you know me I am just enjoying the journey.

Yesterday I had to replace quite a few of my brushes. I had been wanting too... but now I had no choice. I used an old mixing jar that obviously had some leftover resin in the bottom that didn't harden. I left my brushes sitting in the water and they got all tacky and gooey. However the good news was I was able to replace them with very good brushes so win win.

Today I also went to a hard hat tour for an Artist live/work space. It was nice to see what the spaces will eventually look like. They will have studio units, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms. The downfall is the there are only 6 two bedroom units. Its in a nice part of DC not far from the main highway that takes you into Maryland or Virginia. Its also close to a co-op grocery store and walking distance to the subway ride to downtown. It was so cool touring the place with other future neighbors that were in the arts. Dancers, musicians, play writes, vocalist, sculptors, designers and visual artist like myself.

Even under construction I can tell the place is going to be very nice. The windows are huge 5ft tall and exposed duct work and high ceilings. They will have a dance studio/art gallery. Shared laundry facilities on the premises. Not too mention the apartments are very spacious to accommodate all types artist. There will be another meeting with property managers in the next few weeks. So I'll keep you guys posted.

They have a government funded program that allows for affordable housing for artist.

New Art and I am on a fatbook team

Hello world!

Okay lets see (taking deep breath) Well first let me discuss my 100cup moment...I met a lady named Diana Quinn on Gary Reef's ning community Loving Mixed Media we are both locals and in love with the arts. We would chat online periodically. So we sort of became friends. However yesterday it was official! Diana came out to Bowie, MD which is about 20 minutes from her home in Washington, DC (I envy lol) to see my art exhibit. I met her over there. We had a nice afternoon we talked art and looked at my work then drove over to Michaels to get heavy card stock for the Fatbook group we are both participating in. Then we had lunch and margaritas at a Mexican restaurant. It was a nice outing I enjoyed her so much.

We are all suppose to be meeting up with 11 other LMMers in the spring for the Art & Soul artist retreat in Hampton, VA. I will finally get to meet Gary in person he is an Aussie but lives in Norway. We even have someone coming from Canada. Everybody is spread all around the place and we will get to met a few of them at the retreat. ~Swoon~

Anywho I was so excited to get home and get started on my FatBook pages. There are two groups and 40 pages for one and 28 for the other. So yes that is a lot of pages 68 4'x4' squares.

You all already know my pages were going to be purple.

Here is an example one someone did in my favorite color.

They usually have a running theme colors, wings, flowers, music, love or something like that.

You do however many are participating exm. 25 people are in one of my groups, then you add a few extras, in our case 3 in case there is a mishap when binding the books. Everyone creates that many pages according to the theme. The more embellished the book the better. The embellishments are what help make the book fat. So fat in some cases you can't close it.

Our theme is "In the Garden" or "Art&Soul" since we will be getting the completed books at the retreat. Its always good to have a host in charge of deadlines for turning in pages, shipping fees, getting the books bound together etc. etc.

I am also working on a 24x48 birch wood panel Bee/She lady.

Long way to go on this but I'm in no hurry.

Shae has the opportunity to work with some of the greatest in the business.

Shae's style reminds me of a cross between Teena Marie and Nikka Costa. "Catch a Ride"

is my personal favorite. I had a chance to hear perform at CASRAM (can a sista rock a mic) and thats where I became a fan. Its something about hearing these artist perform live that just gives you a totally different perspective. She describes her music as "creating the type of vibe which allows one to travel inside their mind and day dream while still appreciating the eclectic mix of classical, folk, rhythm and blues, hip-hop, jazz and latin playing in the background. Her music is personal, searching, and adventurous".

Shae grew up in Portland, Oregon engulfed with a family of classically trained musicians. She now lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Okay ladies and gents I recommend Levi not only because he is such a handsome cutie. But I have heard him sing live as well. His strong yet smooth vocals sound so good. Not to mention he plays instruments. I remember that night back when Hardrock Live was in full swing the first time I heard him sing. I was so impressed with his voice and the way he was playing the guitar I stopped painting and turned around to have a good look at this amazing artist. He had sang a cover of Bill Withers "Use Me" Needless to say I was impressed. His style of music is hard to describe but he says it best "Gumbo" meaning its a lot of different genre's mixed up. Lil bit of dis and dat sort speak. Some would say alternative but whatever you call it, its audio goodness...

So here you go boys and girls another feel good listening pleasure for your playlist.
My personal favorite is "Daylight" but the entire "This Way" CD is an easy listen.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who came out, gave a shout out, provided their service, or sent their best wishes. My show was an awesome success! I sold several pieces tonight! Which leads me too my special Thank You to the collectors of RichAnt Art. You forever have a piece of my soul. I truly from the bottom of my heart appreciate you for supporting my dream and talent. Some of you have sowed into me several times in the past few years. I love you and humbly thank you big time. I also want to take the time to thank all of you who have ever included or invited me to showcase my talents in your venue. Thank you to those of you who came to those events and cheered me on. I mean wow I feel so blessed!!!!

Hello World Happy New Year!

Hope all is wonderful for you awesome people!

Today is the big day for me...in a few hours I will be receiving guest at my first solo exhibit. I am so nervous and excited all at the same time. I can hardly contain myself.

I have been working like a Hebrew slave over here. So much that I landed myself right in the emergency room. Yep my family thought I was having some type of brain malfunction. So they called the paramedics. I don't have any recollection of any of it. They say I was unresponsive and saying the same things over and over.

So I guess its official I am the "MAD" artist RichAnt.

I have a follow up with a neurologist next week. In the mean time after the show I will be taking it easy and taking better care of me.

Sneak Peek

Hey guys so sorry I forgot to do Music Monday. I will make several post and have them automate to post from now on. Its nearing the time for my art show so I have been trying to keep my focus on that. Since I'm almost certain you guys that read aren't local I don't feel bad knowing you have seen a lot of my collection for this show, however I have a few more and I can only show you sneak peeks. I like to keep some element of surprise. Just in case. Photos still aren't hardly the same as seeing in person.

I know from whenever I goto a show of an artist I love and follow. They do sneak peaks on twitter or their blog and I assure you I am always speechless in person. I would love to own a lot more originals of some of my favorite artist. Eventually I will be back in the position to do just that. My walls will be so interesting.

Anyway it's just a peek but you can see they are definitely are coming along nicely.

I am loving the surface of wood I ~~think~~ or better yet know I will be working on more wood in the future.

I draw daily I carry around several small journals here and there just so I can draw. I see so much growth in my work. Even from one piece to the very next. My work is even evolving. When I first started out my focus was to mimic others that did work that sold a lot. I think finding inspiration from other artist is good but its still very important to draw inspiration from other places as well. Its the key to finding what satisfies your heart while creating. Not what you would like as the consumer necessarily.

Don't get me wrong I paint what I too would buy. But I also paint what comes from my heart and soul. The things I dream off. The beauty that captures my eye.

Whenever I paint or draw I have to have music playing so I can stay in this dream like state. So much of my reality is weighted down by stress the music keeps me in an intense creative zone. Even sad music which at many times has made me cry still keeps me in that creative trance.

What inspires you too create? What keeps you in the mood to do what you do?
